This came up a couple weeks ago (on one of my other feeds).
Regardless of previous charges & convictions, "if" the statements are true about punishing someone for attempting suicide, there is a flaw in our system.
1) We KNOW Pvt Manning has Mental Health issues.
2) We KNOW Solitary Confinement can create or exacerbate Mental Health issues.
3) We KNOW Suicide is a Mental Health issue.
Mental Health & Medical Treatment (et al) are outside Pvt Manning's control. Therefore, why would a punishment be leveled? Furthermore, why would you impose a punishment known to exacerbate an issue which caused the situation in the first place?
While Pvt Manning is in our custody, we have the obligation of taking care of Pvt Manning. This is not debatable.

I agree 100% Sgt Aaron Kennedy, MS and when and if he is convicted, hang him along with the other traitor Bergdahl and his Taliban sympathizing father..

Sgt Aaron Kennedy, MS Behind on the times, he was convicted I just read. If you cant do the time, dont do the crime.

SFC William Farrell - Pvt Manning was already convicted. Treason was NOT on the table. "Aiding the enemy" was, and Manning was NOT convicted of that charge (July 30, 2013).

SFC William Farrell - It's not about the crime or the time. It's about Medical, which we have an obligation to cover while Pvt Manning is in our custody.

I initial thoughts were WikiLeaks must have prompted the gullible to protect for a traitor (2) much ado about nothing; and (3) there must be a news shortage SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL
In Manning's case solitary confinement might be a boon, my son was imprisoned at the Disciplinary Barracks from 2011 to 2015 when he was transferred to a medium security federal prison in West Virginia.
I expect the "barracks" are segregated by me and women. Manning may well have been placed in the women's cell blocks and I expect they did not treat manning very well - too bad for manning IMHO. Manning could be insane if Manning believed that Manning would be accepted as a transgender in the disciplinary barracks.
While it is possible they are welcoming transgender prisoners, I would expect that was highly unlikely.

No sympathy here, this troops should serve a full sentence, no special surgeries or medications. When and if the troop is released then its only a matter of time before a self correction takes place. Put him with Bergdahl they can be cell mates.
