The Military.com article only mentions the Sunni and Shia perspective while it ignores the Kurdish perspective which is a majority in northern Iraq and the Kurdish Peshmerga role in the liberation of Mosul LTC Ivan Raiklin, Esq.
I am thankful that my classmates and old friends Joe Votel and Tony Thomas are at the helm of CENTCOM and SOCOM respectively and very thankful that we have President Donald Trump instead of HRC :-)
1. Hopefully the Shia militias are being vetted to see which are Iranian proxy agents and which really have embraced a multicultural Iraq.
2. Sending the Shia against ISIS in Syria may be risky since Bashar Assad has courted the Shia revolutionary guards forces of Iran including Quds assets as well as the Hezbollah militias.
3. Hopefully the Shia militias can be gradually disbanded and realigned into local security forces away from the border with Iran.

LTC Ivan Raiklin, Esq. I Don't Know Major. The Minority Sunnis were the Top Dogs Now they Know what it's Like to be the Underdogs Now. The Majority Shia are in Control but I Don't Know that there is a Good Answer. The Poor Kurds might be the Whipping Boy for Both Again but they have demonstrated themselves to be Outstanding Warriors in Conjunction with the Shia.

If they'd do a cranial extraction, they'd see that when they were fighting against ISIS they got along fairly well, they need to carry this forwards.
