That has to be hard. A parents only job is to protect his children and keep them safe. I would probably be a momma grizzly being stationed together if anyone shot at my kids!!!

Similar story with a good friend of mine. He and his Dad (both Army) crossed paths in Iraq.

PO1 William "Chip" Nagel My parents and I were both stationed at the same base in England at the same time. Of course that wasn't a war zone, or was it? IRA was still active at the time and my Step Dad and I arrived at King's Cross Rail Station for a day trip to London once a few minutes after the IRA detonated an IED a few blocks away.

During my second Iraq deployment, my dad was "deployed" (Air Force lol) to Qatar. He called our aid station everyday, multiple times a day. Yes, I am his youngest child.
Years later, we were both stationed in Korea. I was at CP Humphreys and he was at Osan AB. Needless to say, I saw him more often than at any point in my adult life. Lol

Hey, we can't help it that we have plenty of room in the cargo lifters to transport McDonald's, Wal-Mart, Best Buy, and the Hilton.
Seriously cool that you had a family member that close, though, during those assignments.
