Air Force Could Recall as Many as 1,000 Retirees to Active Duty

Not too bad a deal for any who would volunteer for it. My brother was "voluntarily" recalled to go to Iraq around 2009 from the retired reserves (for a year) and was ok with it.

But these officers can't get promoted in this, so outside of service pride, what's the sense? It would appear that there is a reason for the mass exodus of pilots and maintainers the AF isn't properly dealing with?
