David one of my favorites but I have to be honest I guess I was a little sheltered during my lots of years in cause I never experienced any thing like that. Oh well!

It was actually based on Joseph Conrad's "Heart of Darkness." It was very exaggerated, but it was entertaining. When I was in the 24th ID, it was shown at the post theater. LOL! LTC Jeff Shearer

SGT (Join to see), unfortunately, one of the best scenes of the movie was cut from the original release, and only appeared in Apocalypse Now Redux. It’s a French plantation/love scene that provides insight to French/American occupation of Vietnam. It’s a shame that most people who saw Apocalypse Now never saw this scene. In my opinion, reviewers may well have thought differently about the original movie had this scene been retained.
