Thanks for reminding us that on March 22, 1945 the Arab League was established by representatives from Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, Transjordan, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, and Aden [not Yemen] which met in Cairo, Egypt TSgt Joe C..
This League resisted the formation of Israel after WWII and some members fought against the newly established land of Israel beginning in 1948 and in 1956, 1967 and later in the 1973 war where Israel soundly defeated this Arab League states which fought against it.
FYI, the State of Aden (Arabic: ولاية عدن Wilāyat ʿAdan) became the People's Republic of South Yemen on 30 November 1967, marking the end of British rule. The listing of Yemen is a mistake in the article you cited.

Sir, you missed the Seven day War of 1967 wherein Israel fought for its existence and conquered both the West Bank with the Golan heights and the Sinai peninsula up against the Suez Canal. The U.S. had a naval ship in the Mediterranean Sea attacked by an Israeli jet by accident that was gathering intelligence in the area.

SSgt Robert Marx - thanks my medications sometimes impact me more than others. I just inserted the 1967 war.
FYI when I went through the Infantry Officers Advanced Course at Fort Benning in 1984, we had an Israeli infantry LTC and an Egyptian infantry LTC who fought against each other in the 1973 war as captains. They gave a combined briefing of the 1973 war battle that they fought in on the approach to the Suez canal. That was am amazing briefing with picture, maps, and their memories of the combat. We were not authorized o share the briefing.

Their main reason for forming the Arab League was to combat Jews and blocking a homeland to be created on land perceived as eternally Arab. The British were intent on creating a Jewish homeland independent of their empire because Jews had increased immigration to Palestine chiefly because Russia loosed their hand with the czar allowing for wide-spread emigration; the Jews identified Palestine as their preferred place and had turned down any area in Africa; and Palestine had been relatively open with large swaths of empty land open for habitation. Nomadic tribes were mainly spread out in the desert like areas of the Middle East and presumed that no group would attempt to colonize any of these desolate landscapes. Any group based on hatred for an ethnic group due to some perceived divide is unworthy of support or recognition.
