Good morning, Rallypoint. Today's Astronomy Picture of the Day (APOD) is titled "The Orion You Can Almost See." Too bad this wasn't a picture for Red Friday. The normal perspective in the Northern Hemisphere is of Orion on his feet striding across the sky. In this image, the constellation is shown lying down (head left, feet right, belt in the middle). Mouse over the image once on the APOD page and you will see the features labelled. I had never heard of Barnard's Loop. I'll be looking for it next time I have a good viewing opportunity.
