One of my favorites, SGT (Join to see)! During the Special Forces Phase 1 course at Camp Mackall (APR-MAY70), the SFTG instructors would make us come to attention and sing the Ballad of the Green Berets whenever we were in a classroom environment!
SSG Barry Sadler is buried in the Nashville (TN) National Cemetery. I last visited and paid my respects to SSG Sadler on April 6, 2013. He’s buried in grave #64, section NN, which is a circular area in the lower central portion of the map, just to the right of the railroad tracks.

Thanks for the pic LTC Stephen C. I have not seen his gravestone before. Sgt Sadler was my reason for my twin brother and i joining the Army in 1969.

LTJG Richard Bruce: WHAT A GREAT MOVIE THAT MUST HAVE BEEN! GOD bless you young man; and John Wayne. Much Love to You Both.

I watched that movie more times than I can remember. When I was in the Navy, I volunteered for anything that would get me in Vietnam, from Swift Boats to Helo gunner. The guys that were afraid to fly, got the Helo’s and the ones who were fearful of the water, got the Boats. I guess the Navy thought I was too crazy. I had high school friends that died there and I wanted to do my part. God had other plans for me, I guess.
