It is a vexing problem. The technology has massive potential to educate, enlighten, create awareness etc. but it is used like an electronic Slam Book from the 1970's mostly. We have all of the worlds knowledge at our fingertips and yet we choose to focus on social media and apps that satisfy our immediate desire for being liked, recognized, accepted, up-voted etc.

People freely buy the devices, download the apps or go to the websites. They seem to not understand how the technology works only how to access it and interact with it.
