My grandfather fought in Bougainville.
He was always salty that people always talked about Guadalcanal, but never there.

SPC Douglas Bolton - He was my hero.
Spent time there, Tarawa, New Guinea, Mindinao, and Okinawa.
Two Purple Hearts and burned pretty badly somewhere along the way, but mostly intact.
He just died last year.
