Battle deaths on all sides were significantly less than disease-caused deaths from the 1500's through the 1900's my friend Sgt Kelli Mays Smallpox wiped out many native Americans from south through north America.
Doing a quick scan, I noticed the Pequot massacre was not listed - that was a case were an Indian tribe allied with settlers to wipe out the Pequot nation in New England. The Last of the Mohicans is a fictional account linked to that genocide.

A discussion that cannot be verified. We will never know the number of Native Americans killed as most carried off their dead and concealed their burial location. The numbers are simply estimates, with a few exceptions such as Wounded Knee, where there were people that actually went around and counted the bodies as they threw the Indians into a large open trench and covered them over.
I find it interesting that in those old days, if the Indians killed white people, it was a massacre but if the whites killed Indians it was "a heroic battle."
