Damn right it's the Mayor's problem, but he isn't doing anything constructive to eliminate it.

Incorrect. On a lot of levels. Chicago, for whatever reason, represents the single most radical increase in murders in the country. Democrats, who love to claim to be the champion of the poor and of blacks, have done nothing to prevent it from happening. Democrats have ruled Chicago for over half a century, and have created this environment. They have also made it very difficult for law-abiding citizens to be armed and defend themselves. Obama contributed to this environment by preferring Black (thug) Lives Matter over police, making it harder for police to do their jobs; and by supporting gun control (which is only "common sense" to liberal fascists).

None of those situations exist in Lubbock.

The police are part of the problem. They system is part of the problem. The government is part of the problem and they ALL need to help fix this city. Black Lives matter are not THUGS. If they are thugs then so are the dam police.
They have gun control? THen how are all these kids in these poor areas getting the guns

What's going on is still going on because they're being allowed to murder, because the Mayor hasn't done anything except to mouth off to Trump.

I have friends that support Trump and i dont beat them down. Fixing Chicago is not hard, they just choose not to do it.

1st I would send some very deep ops, to infiltrate the gangs and C.P.D. ( Chicago Police Dept. )
Find out who on the force is working with the gangs and drug dealers, and what local politicians are involved also.
2nd I would launch a city wide strike with about 20,000 law enforcement. Including Deputizing all black men who pass a serious back ground check, and live in the area's effected. Total news blackout and no fore warning .
3rd I would encourage God and Prayer and the pledge of Allegiance back in school.
4. I will give huge raises to school teachers police officers firemen and EMTs.
5. I will call a meeting with all the city's top clergy, and for Warren any of them that I miss using a congregations and their areas and setting bad examples to the public will no longer be tolerated. People talk in the neighborhood about what's going on at their local churches, and I will tell them I don't need any pastors running around taking advantage of single mothers and getting them pregnant and giving birth to unwanted kids. I will threaten to put them on blast every single day until I move out of my city
6. Then I will have a Citywide meeting with all the top businesses handcraft out a plan to give tax incentives and other types of incentives by installing small businesses grocery stores auto mechanic places and businesses that the community can readily patronize. And to encourage the young people during the summer to get summer jobs and also encourage Parks and Recreations to set up Little League Baseball soccer football teams so that the young people are so busy having fun the drug dealers can't find time to recruit anyone. I also will encourage mentoring volunteer mentoring so parents that are working part time or have a few extra hours a day can go down to the local YMCA of Parks and Recreation and volunteer to help out during the summer programs weather is help preparing lunch or just watching the kids chaperoning the children and making sure nothing happens. I also will encourage the police department to start a civilian police academy so the parents and adults in the neighborhood can't get a first-hand class or classes on why the police stop-and-search what they look for who they look for and why they look for certain individuals when they get a call of a crime, last of all I'll instruct my officers and notify the public that I was staying 100% behind my police officers if they have to use deadly force that I will back them up 1000% because with all the other measures above that I put in place there should be no reason for anyone to want to Rob kill maime or murder anyone for any reason.
