It seems that based on race a lot of skills that people had were not used even though they were badly needed. That never made any sense to waste the talents and abilities that were do badly needed based on nothing more than a built in prejudice that some seemed to be afflicted with. Sort of the We will use some talents as long as You stay out of sight. Well despite that segregation people proved their worth and that persistence is what changed these closed minded attitudes.
