An interesting comparison of two videos.
1. This video, approximately an hour, is easier to listen to than the second video (link below), and imo worth listening to. It also shines a light on why the other video sounds so . . . well . . . old school "soviet". It is a heavy duty topic - a horror show, actually.
Dark Persuasion - The History of Brainwashing from Pavlov to Social Media
In both videos it is clear that Pavlov's research, experiences, and teachings about the underbelly of psychology in the form of abuse by the nefarious, are considered to be "the gold standard" to use for the purposes of "coercive persuasion" (i.e. brainwashing).
2. Interesting title. I watched this video because it seems to suggest it is something many more than usual are struggling to not experience on a personal level - at least in the past two years. It is not instructive in the way the second video is. I thought it was useless to watch except for what it demonstrates about what resembles the soviet effort that was directed at "the free world" (especially disaffected youth) from the 50s onward. It is instructive for that reason.
MASS PSYCHOSIS - How an Entire Population Becomes MENTALLY ILL
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=09maaUaRT4MI note a bit of an accent. Also there is the old school language associated soviet verbal propaganda attacks of the past. Also noting the monologue starts with singling out U.S. and Europe to start with, i.e. the "free world" of the Cold War, as if we no longer recognize efforts to create a caste system that assigns power. That effort was/is intended to try to create divisiveness through turmoil that results in fear becoming societal paranoia (i.e. mass psychosis) which. in turn is intended to encourages jealousy and hate, thus combative divisiveness. The end game is to create mass psychosis as a vicious circle of cognitive dissonance.
Obviously, the skill set associated with applying psychology for nefarious purposes has long been used on POWs which turned psychology into a vicious weapon.
