Harry Belafonte - "Banana Boat (Day O)" - 1956
Thanks Maj Marty Hogan for letting us know that March 1 is the 91st anniversary of the birth of American singer, songwriter, actor, and social activist Harold George Bellanfanti Jr. who has been one of the most successful Jamaican-American pop stars and he was dubbed the "King of Calypso" for popularizing the Caribbean musical style (originating in Trinidad & Tobago).
Happy Birthday Harry Belafonte with several more happy returns.
He is a wonderful entertainer.

Tremendously talented individual. And definitely a person who successfully challenged the status quo.
