Amid ongoing efforts to bring thousands of aging veterans to visit the nation’s capital in 2022, supporters of the Honor Flight Network are asking administration officials to resume police escorts for memorial visits to ensure the safety of everyone involved.
Since 2005, Honor Flight officials have helped more than 240,000 veterans from across the country visit Washington, D.C., for an opportunity to tour the war memorials and national landmarks there.

Those WW II Veterans are a National Treasure, and they need to protect them appropriately.

This is a great organization, SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL... One of my DAV Chapter 90 members, SGT Joseph Barca, had the opportunity to go to Washington on one of their flights... I arranged for another DAV member to escort him to to Logan International Airport in the early morning and my wife and I picked him up at the Massachusetts State Police Barracks just outside Logan where the buses were unloading the Veterans... He was so happy to have been chosen and could not say enough about the organization, the trip, the WWI and WWII memorials and the Vietnam War memorial wall... He has passed on now, but I will never forget him or that night... I am honored to have been of service to him...
