Post war analysis will show that had the U-Boat reached Japan, the Japanese would have had enough ingredients to make and detonate two dirty bombs. One of which would have been Ulithi Atoll. Tho its sinking ability would not have been as decent as the American Bikini tests later in history, it would have poisoned (read: killed) close to 100000 American servicemen and radiated the ships to prevent their usage. Second bomb would more than likely have been Moscow.
