I have always told people San Antonio is a Fantastic place to Live. We have everything thing here. It has been the #1 tourist spot in Texas for more than 14 years, yet we don't even come up as a city on the Weather Channel and many other lists...BUT! I digress....H.E. B. is a grocery store that started here many many years ago in the Hill Country as a mom and pop shop...and grew and grew and grew...and started expanding outwards...first to nearby towns, then all the way down South to Corpus Christie, Laredo...and up to Austin. Dallas does not have HEB's yet, but many folks in Dallas know of HEB and want them up there badly. Anyway, the moral of this post is to show how much the folks who RUN HEB care about our community and their fellow citizens. I can't say other grocery stores do the same, but H.E.B. ROCKS!!!

I have worked at many businesses, far more than most, most often as a consultant, and seen the best and worst of them. I always enjoy seeing good management succeed. It is a rare commodity, too rare. Leaders? Almost nonexistent outside the military community and also rare even there...
