Many of you know that Kenny Loggins was once a part of "Loggins and Messina" back in the 70s... This is a great song by Kenny, which I believe you will all enjoy...
When this was published on YouTube, one subscriber wrote the following:
"In 1984, July 13th, a Friday, I walked into the hospital gift shop and purchased an orange bear. I went back up stairs and waited with my wife for the birth of our first son. That night, "Orange Bear" sat watch over my son in the nursery and was with him every night and day thereafter for the next 22 months....until my second child was born, and my older son brought "Orange Bear" to the hospital and gave him to his little brother on April 17th, 1986. So, for the next three years to the day, "Orange Bear" remained at my younger son's side, until on April 17th, 1989, my daughter was born and "Orange Bear" made another trip to the hospital to protect and accompany my third child home.
Orange Bear remained sleeping on her bed until February 18th, 2012, when my oldest son became a father. That day, my daughter brought Orange Bear back to the hospital, called into duty again, to meet his new charge, my granddaughter. Orange Bear sleeps with her every night. Recently, my granddaughter told her Daddy that she hopes to have a sister or brother soon....so she can pass on the 34 year old Orange Bear!
I believe that this is indicative of the meaning of this song, but you be the judge...
LYRICS:
"Return To Pooh Corner"
Christopher Robin and I walked along
Under branches lit up by the moon
Posing our questions to Owl and Eeyore
As our days disappeared all too soon
But I've wandered much further today than I should
And I can't seem to find my way back to the Wood
So help me if you can
I've got to get back
To the House at Pooh Corner by one
You'd be surprised
There's so much to be done
Count all the bees in the hive
Chase all the clouds from the sky
Back to the days of Christopher Robin and Pooh
Winnie the Pooh doesn't know what to do
Got a honey jar stuck on his nose
He came to me asking help and advice
From here no one knows where he goes
So I sent him to ask of the Owl if he's there
How to loosen a jar from the nose of a bear
Help me if you can
I've got to get back
To the House at Pooh Corner by one
You'd be surprised
There's so much to be done
Count all the bees in the hive
Chase all the clouds from the sky
Back to the days of Christopher Robin and Pooh
It's hard to explain how a few precious things
Seem to follow throughout all our lives
After all's said and done I was watching my son
Sleeping there with my bear by his side
So I tucked him in, I kissed him and as I was going
I swear that the old bear whispered "Boy welcome home"
Believe me if you can
I've finally come back
To the House at Pooh Corner by one
What do you know
There's so much to be done
Count all the bees in the hive
Chase all the clouds from the sky
Back to the days of Christopher Robin
Back to the ways of Christopher Robin
Back to the days of Pooh
Writer(s): Kenny Loggins
I hope you thoroughly enjoyed it...
