She was shot breaking into the United States Congress. An act of Treason, period

PO1 H Gene Lawrence - Come on now Gene, I would have shot her too. She was trying to climb through a window to the other side of a barricaded door where members of Congress were.

SFC William Farrell - she was not armed and according to everything I’ve read, she did not have a warning and did she most likely did not see him as he was in plain clothes firing from behind a wall. She did not pose a physical threat to anyone. Besides that there were other officers that could have helped restrain her if necessary. I’m sorry, but all of my training as a Police Officer says it was a bad shoot.

PO1 H Gene Lawrence - apparently you missed a lot in training. She was coming in a broken window to interfere with the Legislature being able to complete its Constitutionally mandated duty. Could he see in her pockets?

Where are all those conservatives that always defend a police officer that kills a person? The usual comment from them is "if the person was not acting criminally, they would not have been shot."
Same, same here.

I shed no tears for Babbitt PO1 William "Chip" Nagel. From what I read about her, she was an unhinged lunatic who was hell bent on taking back what was "stolen" from her and her fellow supporters. I'm really surprised more protestors weren't killed. If they were doing that at the Whitehouse, you can guarantee it.

When an unearned woman who was not even through the window, posing no physical threat gets killed and you shed no tears, man that is cold. It goes against any and all Police Training.

PO1 H Gene Lawrence - Gene, I shudder to think of what could have happened had these lunatics not been stopped by the heroic efforts of the Capitol Police Force and other support agencies. Have you given that any thought?

SFC William Farrell - I have, but there must be justified use of lethal force and in this case there was not any. I’m not a crybaby bleeding heart liberal, but the law must be carefully enforced. This is an out and out unnecessary force situation. No justification to use deadly force, under the laws of our land. That is the guiding force that I worked under. An unjustified death is always a tragedy. This officer now has to live with that fact for the rest of his life. A family is now permanently deprived of a loved one, unlawfully. Every Police Officer is supposed to use shooting as a last resort. There were other options available in this situation.

PO1 H Gene Lawrence - Gene, you must have watched a different video than I did. I watched the entire event on 6 January. The shooting was tragic, but justified. She was attempting to get to the Congress members, with a back pack, while the mob was calling out violent threats.
That would look justified to a blind man.
