Thanks for reminding us about Operation SWIFT SP5 Mark Kuzinski. Search and destroy operations south of the DMZ occurred periodically. This one in Quang Nam and Quang Tin Provinces in I Corps Tactical Zone was costly to the U.S. 5th Marine Regiment and costlier to the North Vietnamese forces.

Uncle Sams Mean Green Machine. "Marines in Heavy Fighting" reminds me of Full Metal Jacket. Nature of what Marines Do, We Sailors are their Bus Drivers and we are notorious for dropping them off in the Crappiest of Neighborhoods. I have nothing but respect for the Marines. Your correct, but there is two GRP of Sailors that are always with them and attached to them. Navy Corpsman and Seabees.
