That is interesting military family news SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL that Operation-Desert-Storm Nevada-Air-National-Guard veteran SFC Michael Connell has passed on his bagpipes to his daughter Air Guard Senior Airman Mariah Connell will take on the role as the only military piper in Nevada after her dad retires.
Kudos to this military family - Mariah follows a long line of military succession in her family. Her mother, Air Guard Master Sgt. Suzanne Connell and Michael both said their grandparents, parents, aunts and uncles served in different U.S. and German military branches as far as back as WWII.

We had a piper play at our company Mess night on Okinawa in the late 90s. He was an active duty Corporal who did events off duty for some cash and free dinner and drinks. He was very good at what he did and he gave us a bit of history on the pipes. He also had purchased and wore the USMC tartan. It definately was a nice touch to the festivities.
