On May 21, 1970, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young released the protest single Ohio, written and composed by Neil Young in reaction to the Kent State shootings of May 4, 1970, when unarmed college students were shot by the Ohio National Guard. The guardsmen fired 67 rounds over a period of 13 seconds, killing four students and wounding nine others, one of whom suffered permanent paralysis.

Thank you, my friend SGT (Join to see) for posting the emotionally disturbing music video of Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young performing Neil Young's protest anthem "Ohio" which memorialized the killing of four students, who were at a protest, by Ohio National Guard solders in 1970.
I was 14 in 1970 and in high school in Upper Darby, PA.

In the backdrop of current shootings across the Nation, can RP, as One, come up with viable solutions to curb such local terrorism in the U.S; what are your thoughts, LTC Stephen Ford, Sir?

1. If more families and neighbors are alert to changes in behavior and suspicious behavior that would probably help interdict more potential terrorists before the strike.
2. Since many in this nation move regularly [especially military service members] and in urban areas people often don't know their neighbors, that is a greater challenge.
a. Neighborhood policing has made inroads in some urban neighborhoods building relationships and trust between the police and neighborhoods.
b. It would be great if there were local and national efforts to connect neighbors to restore trust and bridge gaps in the recognition that we have more in common that what separates us - politically, faith, social status, color, etc..

PO1 William "Chip" Nagel - Nice picture of you and your oldest grandchild Chip. It's great to be a grandfather but I look back sometimes and wonder how all the years went by so fast. I have grandchildren and my youngest daughter is 28 now. You and I are still around to enjoy our families and that is what makes a good life.
