Well, since this is from the New York Times I am not surprised that their focus is on the would-be mother PO1 William "Chip" Nagel.
1. The term mother is unique to women who give birth - natural or cesarean.
2. I helped deliver my first-born son at home in Columbus, Georgia in 1988 and delivered my second son at the Bethesda birthing center in Bethesda, Maryland in 1991. That included cutting the umbilical cord after draining all the blood into the newborn before cutting it.
3. This may well be teed up to the Supreme Court which may rule on responsibilities for induced abortions and limitations on the procedures.
Thank you for mentioning me, my friend SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL
I concur my friend SGT Robert R.
