We all have to keep reading articles using critical thinking skills. The "former airman" is true...he was court-martialed by the AF and booted. The "feds say" part of the headline is really just the federal prosecutor team in the case. Their claim is that because the sale WOULD HAVE BEEN illegal had the rifle been sold in Colorado, that the Texas retailer broke the law by selling it in TX.

This sort of headline and writing drives me crazy. And while many of us can sort it out, the American public mostly can't.
