Surviving an Active Shooter event as an Armed Citizen.
This is another excellent analysis of last Sunday's shooting at the church in Texas.

Really, really good information here.
People tend to freeze when a gun comes out, with a secondary desire to find cover. The unarmed man was well inside range for going to the ground with the shooter, but he froze and relied on the humanity of the shooter to not get shot. That was a natural, but bad choice.
The close armed usher took too long to get his gun out, the shooter saw the movement, ID'd the threat, and shot first. Then took out the first guy.
As stated in the video, the second armed usher made a hell of a shot at range and with lots of friendlies in the foreground.
The lesson in the video is to train. But I would tell you to train to act decisively. Decisiveness is how you win a fight.
