An interesting side note about Stuckie: He was discovered by loggers in 1980, and they estimate that the dog had been inside the tree for approximately 20 years before he was discovered. So quick math puts the incident around 1960. Stuckie was also on display for a time at Ripley's Believe it or Not. The poor dog most likely tracked the scent of a critter, and chased it up the decaying tree when it became lodged inside and could not escape. Sad to think Stuckie died of thirst, while the critter most likely escaped.
