"If you want to raise a man from mud and filth, do not think it is enough to stay on top and reach a helping hand down to him. You must go all the way down yourself, down into mud and filth. Then take hold of him with strong hands and pull him and yourself out into the light."
-Martin Buber

Good morning Col Burroughs and Posse. Just can't find what I want this morning. However, we'll press on...
A strong hand (or arm) is sometimes what is needed when people get themselves into a situation they can't see a way out of. This only works if you've built up a reserve of trust or no matter how hard you try they would rather stay where they are than have you help them into a better place/decision. We can't fix others but we can offer resources and ideas to improve their situation but they have to be willing to make the effort or it all goes to waste.

I expect your involvement with those you lead and those who rely on your judgement and advice is balanced between interacting with them respectfully, allowing them latitude to operate, exercise their viewpoints without prejudice, and speak their minds respectfully and freely. No doubt they appreciate the freedom and latitude and hopefully they act responsibly. 'For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. For the whole law is fulfilled in one word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ [Galatians 5:13-14 ESV] my sister-in-Christ Lt Col Charlie Brown.

I pray for a sufficient increase of the Fruit of the Spirit kindness, gentleness, and self-control for each of YOUR adopted sons and daughters who reads this prayer or listens to it dear LORD. Thank YOU, LORD for refilling us daily and hourly as we are prompted by YOU to demonstrate YOUR fruit and share freely. ‘May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope. I myself am satisfied about you, my brothers, that you yourselves are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge and able to instruct one another.’ [Romans 15:13-14 ESV]
LORD use us to comfort the grieving widow, widower, overworked, undernourished and overwhelmed in our midst. Lead us by YOUR grace to help others we intersect with in our daily walk. Open our eyes to those who need encouragement and comfort and guide each of us to whomever YOU know we should encourage, comfort, and/or sit quietly with them and listen to them. 'So if there is any encouragement in Christ, any comfort from love, any participation in the Spirit, any affection and sympathy, complete my joy by being of the same mind. [Philippians 2:1-2 ESV]
I lift trustworthy, honest, and forthright government, military, business, & industry leaders, administrators and managers to YOU LORD. I pray that YOU bless each with a measure of kindness and goodness. Lead them to interact with those they are responsible for with respect and ears to hear what the people are saying, from their heart. each to fulfill promises they make to those they lead. ‘And he said, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear.” 10And when he was alone, those around him with the twelve asked him about the parables. 11And he said to them, “To you has been given the secret of the kingdom of God, but for those outside everything is in parables, 12so that “‘they may indeed see but not perceive, and may indeed hear but not understand, lest they should turn and be forgiven.’” [Mark 4:9-13 ESV]
I pray that you and your family members sleep well Thursday night and will awake refreshed and healthy on Friday morning.
By the power and authority of the Name above all names, Jesus the Christ.

Inddeed my friend... Have a great Thursday PO2 (Join to see)...

“A strong set of hands can go a long way in helping others and yourself. Never hesitate to give or extend a strong hand to someone in need. Someday they will be there for you with strong hands. That leads me to this quote for today’s message…

‘Even the strongest hands can lose their grip, the greatest of minds can become cloudy, and the biggest of hearts can break. So be kind, just always be kind.’ — Unknown Author

May you always be there as a leader with a hands-on approach, and may you always be there with strong hands to lift someone up who needs your kindness; may your mind, body, and soul be opened to grace, goodness, peace, forgiveness, and a continued bountiful life of purpose; and keep your family safe, secure, happy, and healthy. Dare to reach out with strong hands.” – COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs

Good “Thursday!” Morning “Burroughs’ Posse Leader from the now bright Blue skies and billowy white clouds in the Greater Boston Area... Working my IT Shift today and a bit behind, so my response will be in segments... Wishing you a productive and happy Thursday, my friend... More to follow!

It is: “Strong Hand Day!” Why Not?

MY PERSONAL QUOTE:
"It is not enough to be strong for oneself, but to be strong in mind, body and spirit to provide strength to those who cannot fend for themselves... Reach out and hold someone's hand and give them the strength to carry on..." - Kerry F. Harkins - May 6, 2021

"Life takes hold of us with strong hands and makes us greater than we thought." - Dorothy Canfield Fisher

"You are truly successful when you can extend a strong hand to someone who is reaching out or just trying to hang on." - Denis Waitley

"The Lord gave us farmers two strong hands so we could grab as much as we could with both of them." - Joseph Heller

"There comes an hour when protest no longer suffices; after philosophy there must be action; the strong hand finishes what the idea has sketched." - Victor Hugo

"In using the strong hand, as now compelled to do, the government has a difficult duty to perform. At the very best, it will by turns do both too little and too much. It can properly have no motive of revenge, no purpose to punish merely for punishment's sake. While we must, by all available means, prevent the overthrow of the government, we should avoid planting and cultivating too many thorns in the bosom of society." - Abraham Lincoln

...and as a strong hand helps those in need...,

"A strong hands-on leader invites feedback, input, and responds to people’s comments, concerns, and issues. They never really separate themselves from the day-to-day operations but allow those assigned to complete their work without micro-managing. It’s all about two-way communications.” — COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs
