Good Saturday morning Col Burroughs and Posse from a cool and very wet Northern Virginia.
I love the theme we've been on this week...we humans were never meant to be alone and the pandamic brought that to the forefront pretty clearly for many of us. My clients, my friends and acquaintances who had companionship (whether 2 legged or 4 legged) definitely did better emotionally and physically than those who were along. Many of our calls to the Red Cross covid crisis line were from people who were alone and suffering as a result. I am a believer in comanionship, and the imporatnce of physical contact for emotional and mental wellness. I see it proven over and over again.

I expect that you appreciate the companions who have proved themselves to be steadfast and reliable including life-long friends. Hopefully you and I are increasingly trustworthy in our relationships with companions – especially spouses. No doubt you are grateful for your relationship with the LORD. As Memorial Day approaches, I expect your thoughts drift towards those companions who laid down their life. 'Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.' [John 15_13 ESV] my sister-in-Christ Lt Col Charlie Brown.

I lift the grieving and those struggling through challenging situations to YOU LORD. By YOUR grace YOU guide each of YOUR adopted sons and daughters daily through our walk-in-faith. YOU are the Companion who sticks closer than any brother or sister. YOU dwell with the soul of each of us. YOU carry us at times and support us as we walk through valleys of the shadow of death. ‘Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you have leaned on the LORD at times.’ [Psalm 23:4-5 ESV]
I pray for sufficient fruit of the Spirit peace, patience, faithfulness, and self-control for each of YOUR adopted sons and daughters who reads this prayer or hears it dear LORD. I pray that each of us lean on YOUR Word and YOU as we walk through life as we face challenges especially spiritual warfare. YOU prepare each of us for the challenges we will face as YOU sanctify the soul of each of us. By YOUR grace YOU remind us of YOUR Word and YOU enable us to demonstrate faith in YOU, to YOUR glory. ‘'Have no fear of them, nor be troubled, but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you.' [1 Peter 3:15 ESV]
I pray that each of us take heed to YOUR admonishment in Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 [ESV]: For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven:
a time to be born, and a time to die;
a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted;
a time to kill, and a time to heal;
a time to break down, and a time to build up;
a time to weep, and a time to laugh;
a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together;
a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
a time to seek, and a time to lose;
a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
a time to tear, and a time to sew;
a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
a time to love, and a time to hate;
a time for war, and a time for peace’

I concur. Earthlings and four pawed creatures have been a blessing to me. I've had the pleasure of their great companionship. We should should our profound appreciation to and for them daily. Col. Brown I am certain you are are one of those fabulous humans.

My buddy, my constant companion. Went to work with me everyday the from the time he was four months old until I retired three years later. Most of the year we do most things together. In the late fall he finds them, he points them, I shoot them (usually). And, unlike a lot of hunting dogs, he does not seem to get upset or downhearted when I do miss.

Enjoy today with a boon companion, RallyPoint!

SPC Michael Oles SR - I started working guns with him at 6 months. Tie him in the woods, give him a treat, walk 150 feet away and fire the shotgun, come back and give him another treat. Then 120 feet, then 90, then 60, then 30. Once a week, and after while I could stand next to him and fire and he did not mind a bit, just waited eagerly for the next treat.

Great advice this morning PO2 (Join to see) Thank you my friend...

“Over the last few days, we’ve actually been talking about various types of companions like service dogs and horses that can really make a difference in your life. Choose your companions wisely based on your needs and what you want to get out of that companion. Companions can be the two-legged type as well, a spouse, a friend, or even a connection here on RallyPoint. That leads me to this quote…

‘Our friends should be companions who inspire us, who help us rise to our best.” — Joseph B. Wirthlin
May you find the right companion in your life that will bring you happiness whether it’s two-legged or four-legged; may your mind, body, and soul be opened to grace, goodness, peace, forgiveness, and a continued bountiful life of purpose; and keep your family safe, secure, happy, and healthy.” — COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs
