Good morning to all and Happy Hump Day. As you've probably noticed by now, Col Burroughs can't post and I am doing it in his stead. All errors are mine and I take responsibility.
Our equipment malfunctions sometimes and so do we. Hunger (energy), lack of sleep, too much stress, not enough downtime, any or all of that can do it. So what's the solution? Some self care and reconnection with loved ones and/or trusted friends. Spending time in prayer. Unplugging ourselves as well as our equipment (computers, phones, TV) will help all reset and work better. In my case, I need personal space: physically, mentally and emotionally and an extra large black coffee to go!

Lt Col Charlie Brown - Some help! That's an empty pre-Pentium computer case. I built a lot of 386 & 486 computers in those nasty things. Stamped with dull dies, that left razor sharp edges to slice you open. The worst, were genuine IBM cases.

I expect you recognize that the LORD is in complete control of every aspect of our lives. HE builds patience in us through trials and testing. When we face unexpected challenges, it is wise to seek the LORD’s guidance. As mature believers, we understand that oftentimes the trials and testing seasons we face are for the benefit of others as well as ourselves. 'Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love Him.’ [James 1:12 ESV] my sister-in-Christ Lt Col Charlie Brown.

I pray for discernment, alertness, endurance in selfless service, and a measure of compassion and sufficient fruit of the Holy Spirit sufficient self-control and patience for each one of YOUR adopted sons and daughters who reads or listens to this prayer. I am thankful that YOU are strengthening the character and fortitude of each of us as YOU prepare us. I expect you appreciate the types of challenges which stimulate your mind without too much stress on your talents and resources. No doubt you are aware of the admonitions of the LORD to submit our plans to HIM and rely on HIS guidance. ‘Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding in all your ways submit to Him and HE will make your path straight.’ [Proverbs 3:5-6]
I lift those going through unexpected challenges to YOU LORD. I thank YOU for preparing each of us as YOU use testing to burn off the dross from our character and firm us up. I hope that each of us are thankful for all YOU do for us including the good and the bad. YOU shape our character through challenges and trials. Enable us to learn quickly the lessons we need to learn for ourselves. Empower us to share what we have learned to bless other individuals. ‘Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.’ [Romans 5:3-5 ESV]
I pray for sufficient endurance and a strengthening of the character if each one of us who is going through harder times than we have previously experienced – including widows, widowers, prisoners, those recovering from surgery and in long term care as well as those who are caring for them. ‘It is for discipline that you have to endure. God is treating you as sons. For what son is there whom his father does not discipline? If you are left without discipline, in which all have participated, then you are illegitimate children and not sons’ Hebrews 12:6-7 ESV ‘
I lift deployed servicemembers and others who are focused on protecting, supporting, and interdicting; the police, security and investigative personnel focused on protecting the citizens, the borders, the towns, neighborhoods and investigating crimes from murder, rape, and larceny through rioting and looting; those on the front lines of dealing with infection from treating through triage; to YOU dear LORD. I pray that YOU bless teach leader, manager and individual with wisdom, discernment, sufficient knowledge and skill to accomplish the tasks they are required to perform. ‘I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you. Be not like a horse or a mule, without understanding, which must be curbed with bit and bridle, or it will not stay near you.’ [Psalm 38:8-9 ESV]
Remember the admonition of the LORD: 'Iron sharpens iron and one man sharpens another.' [Proverbs 27:17 ESV]
I pray that you and your family members sleep well Wednesday night and will awake refreshed and healthy on Thursday morning.
By the power and authority of the Name above all names, Jesus the Christ.

Good morning Col Burroughs and all the rest of my RP family, and thank you Lt Col Charlie Brown for posting for Col Burroughs today. This is a subject close to home to me, since I have been experiencing a ton of technical issues with my iPad for several days. I have a tendency to get very impatient with something technological, that works great for awhile and then for reasons unknown to me, things get messed up. I find that if I take a moment to reflect and ask God, in Prayer, for the patience to deal with the issues at hand, that it tends to calm me down. I believe that we should do that in all things that befall us. I hope that the link that I have provided helps you navigate your issues as well. Have a blessed day and always.

Whatever computer issue you are having, surrender yourself to God with these prayers.

Technology, as great as it is, will never be perfect. There will always be problems and often these issues can wreak havoc in our lives.

It’s difficult to endure various types of computer problems, especially when it appears like nothing else can be done. However, with a firm trust in God, our soul can be set at ease.

Below are a few prayers that can be helpful during such a difficult time. The first one is from St. Teresa of Avila, and is focused on calming the nerves that may be frazzled by the experience.

Let nothing disturb you,Let nothing frighten you,All things are passing away:God never changes.Patience obtains all things whoever has God lacks nothing;God alone suffices.
The second one is written by Bishop Emeritus Richard J. Sklba of the Archdiocese of Milwaukee and is one he composed specifically for such a situation. Below is an excerpt, with the full prayer available on the Archdiocese of Milwaukee website.

Bless again this day the mysterious computer which awaits your power and my human effort.Grant wisdom, knowledge and a clear memory to my mindas I sit before this new creature of your infinite power.Bless my heart with endless patience whenever needed.Guide my hands that I may be your faithful servant in every key I press.Enable my limited efforts to bring glory to your Name and blessings to your people everywhere.Delete me not from your Kingdom and save me from all fear and from all error of sin and ignorance.
