Good morning Col Burroughs and Posse. I do endeavor to be one of those "rise and shine" folks but I have to admit, I find it a lot easier to shine AFTER sufficient caffeination. Regardless, we can all work at shining light, kindness, caring and concern on others at whatever time of day it is that works for us.

COL Mikel J. Burroughs Love that sunflower thought. Reminds me of when I'd drive by a huge sunflower field on the way to base in North Dakota. Flower heads would be facing one way in the morning and another on the way home in the evening.

I expect that you have volunteered your time, talents, treasure and insights on many occasions, challenges and noble enterprises. No doubt you have persevered though many unexpected changes, and a number of significant challenges with composure and grace. Hopefully you are becoming more transparent in sharing your experiences to others who are challenged by similar experiences. ‘And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith. [Galatians 6:9-10 ESV] my sister-in-Christ Lt Col Charlie Brown

I pray for an increase of the fruit of the Holy Spirit goodness and gentleness for each and every one of YOUR adopted sons and daughters who reads or listens to this prayer. LORD, I thank you for renewing the mind of each of us as YOU transform the soul of each of us into a perfect reflection of YOUR image through YOUR sanctification of each of us. YOU cause the soul of each of us to shine abundantly as our maturing soul increasingly reflects YOUR image. 'Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.' [Romans 12:2 ESV]
I lift those struggling along the road of life because of pain, weakness, fear, abuse and/or injustice to YOU, LORD. I pray for sufficient endurance and a strengthening of the character if each one of us who is going through harder times than we have previously experienced – including widows, widowers, divorces, and others whose hopes, dreams, and love has been upended LORD, YOU know how much each individual can bear. YOU build character in each of YOUR adopted sons and daughters through challenges, trials and periods of suffering. We recognize that YOU build character through our challenges. Strengthen our endurance through these trails dear LORD. ‘Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.' [Romans 5:3-5 ESV]
I pray that the LORD blesses each of you with discernment as you are faced with decisions especially when there does not seem to be a good choice available. I pray that you each have eyes to see and ears to hear what the Spirit is showing you and telling you. God loves us more than we can understand. HE is always available to take burdens from us. The yoke the world offers is loathsome. The yoke the LORD offers is perfect for each of us. 'Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.’ [Matthew 11:28-30 ESV]
I lift the families, small-business owners, towns, counties and states which have been severely impacted by top-down decisions that disrupted their communities to YOU LORD. From the Federal energy decisions/executive orders/regulation changes through the opening of the southwest border resulting in an influx of migrants which is in danger of overwhelming support capabilities, law enforcement; and an increased risk of contagious disease increase, many are being challenged to function well. I pray that YOU bless the local through state decision makers with insight to develop solutions and ranges of approaches to the complex problems facing them. 'do not be anxious about anything ... by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts. [Phil 4:6-7 ESV]
I pray that you and your family members sleep well Tuesday night and will awake refreshed and healthy on Wednesday morning.
By the power and authority of the Name above all names, Jesus the Christ.

Good morning, Colonel. Since any who read anything on RP they have been given the chance to rise and shine. A precious gift that means a person can put yesterday in the past and start over today.

Indeed a precious gift for today and every day SSG Samuel Kermon...

“Rise each day with that positive mental attitude and shine and help those around you shine as well… Why Not? It’s free and effortless to make your day and someone else’s day… That reminds me of this advice…

‘Advice from a sunflower: Be bright, sunny, and positive. Spread seeds of happiness. Rise, shine, and hold your head high.’ — Unknown Author

May each day that you rise, be a day that you shine and help others shine as well; may your mind, body, and soul be opened to grace, goodness, peace, forgiveness, and a continued bountiful life of purpose; and keep your family safe, secure, happy, and healthy.” — COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs

Good “Tuesday!” Morning “Burroughs’ Posse Leader from what looks to be a HOT one here in the Greater Boston Area with heat indices over 100°... It is cool in the house right now and the HVAC is working nicely... LOL!

Today is: “Rise and Shine Day!” I arose, but not sure I will shine today, although I am trying as I work my IT shift...

“Write it on your heart that every day is the best day in the year.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson

“An early-morning walk is a blessing for the whole day.” – Henry David Thoreau

“When you arise in the morning, think of what a precious privilege it is to be alive, to breathe, to think, to enjoy, to love.” – Marcus Aurelius

“When you do something beautiful and nobody noticed, do not be sad. For the sun every morning is a beautiful spectacle, and yet most of the audience still sleeps.”– John Lennon

"Life is short, live it. Love is rare, grab it. Anger is bad, dump it. Fear is awful, face it. Memories are sweet, cherish them"- Unknown

It behooves us all to understand that...

“The best leaders will rise to any and all occasions and challenges, and they will shine when they acknowledge others for their contributions to meet those challenges!”— COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs
