Good morning Col Burroughs and Posse and Happy 4th of July weekend. I hope everyone will fly their flag tomorrow if they are not already daily flag flyers! We are blessed to live here.
In case you can't read the quote: Be precise. A lack of precision is dangerous when the margin of error is small. ~Donald Rumsfeld.
Think about that. Sometimes it does not matter all that much and sometimes it is critical. Surgeons have to be precise. We want our pharmacists to be as well; we don't want errors in filling prescriptions. Often carelessness in the way we do things...a lack of precision and attention means we have to begin over again. The more critical a task, the more important it is that we be precise. A broad brush is not always the answer. When one person doesn't do what they are supposed to, discipling or reteaching the group isn't helpful. Be precise and do what needs to be done with that person.

I expect that you understand the value of delegating authority while maintaining responsibility. Perhaps you allowed your children to drive your vehicle which you insure and are responsible for. No doubt within your military service you delegated and/or perhaps delegated authority to you was designated. I hope and pray that each of us are leaders of business, military, family or other groups are wise enough to involve ourselves in training those we lead, counseling them and delating authority commensurate with their potential. The LORD admonishes us that we are sheep in need of a shepherd and HE appoints us as shepherds. shepherd the flock of God that is among you, exercising oversight, not under compulsion, but willingly, as God would have you; not for shameful gain, but eagerly; not domineering over those in your charge, but being examples to the flock [1 Peter 5:2-3 ESV] my sister-in-Christ Lt Col Charlie Brown.

I pray for eyes to see, ears to hear and a heart sensitive to YOU for each of YOUR adopted sons and daughters who reads or hears this prayer LORD. YOU hold us accountable for who and what we caretake. I thank you for delegating authority to care and lead those you entrust to us. I pray that each one of us are wise and discerning enough to recognize YOUR voice and respond to YOU as quickly as we can. ‘Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth. But avoid irreverent babble, for it will lead people into more and more ungodliness, and their talk will spread like gangrene.' [2 Timothy 2:15-17 ESV']
Thank YOU, LORD for allowing and enabling us to be caretakers of property, funds and most crucially people charged to our care. YOU are aware of all, continually, for all eternity as well as before and after eternity since YOU exist outside of time and space. I pray for humility, faithfulness, and self-control for each of us who are responsible for individuals including spouse, children, and those we have been delegated to lead by authority of elected and appointed officials. Thank YOU, LORD for guiding us day by day and grooming us as under-shepherds I pray that each of take to heed the actions of the wise servants in the parable of the talents.
Heed the admonition of the LORD in terms of caretaking for what we are responsible for to HIM from Matthew 25:14 14-21, 24-29 ESV “For it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted to them his property. To one he gave five talents, to another two, to another one, to each according to his ability. Then he went away. He who had received the five talents went at once and traded with them, and he made five talents more. So also he who had the two talents made two talents more. But he who had received the one talent went and dug in the ground and hid his master’s money. Now after a long time the master of those servants came and settled accounts with them. And he who had received the five talents came forward, bringing five talents more, saying, ‘Master, you delivered to me five talents; here, I have made five talents more.’ His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master. … He also who had received the one talent came forward, saying, ‘Master, I knew you to be a hard man, reaping where you did not sow, and gathering where you scattered no seed, so I was afraid, and I went and hid your talent in the ground. Here, you have what is yours.’ But his master answered him, ‘You wicked and slothful servant! You knew that I reap where I have not sown and gather where I scattered no seed? Then you ought to have invested my money with the bankers, and at my coming I should have received what was my own with interest. So take the talent from him and give it to him who has the ten talents. For to everyone who has will more be given, and he will have an abundance. But from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away.
I pray that you and your family members sleep well Saturday night and will awake refreshed and healthy on Sunday morning.
By the power and authority of the Name above all names, Jesus the Christ.

Great quote for today's message and quote 1SG Steven Imerman - thanks my friend and enjoy the holiday weekend brother...

“Precision in our daily tasks, our decisions, and our objectives is not trying to be perfect, but it’s trying to be as precise as possible, which can lead to a level of perfection. The smallest of errors in our decision-making process when it comes to any operation that involves the lives of others or a certain amount of risk can be devastating and that leads me to this quote…

‘Be precise. A lack of precision is dangerous when the margin of error is small.’ — Donald Rumsfeld

May you always incorporate precision as the means to an end to achieve a positive outcome in all of your tasks, goals, and decision-making; may your mind, body, and soul be opened to grace, goodness, peace, forgiveness, and a continued bountiful life of purpose; and keep your family safe, secure, happy, and healthy.” — COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs

Good “Saturday!” Morning “Burroughs’ Posse Leader from another Rainy Day in the Greater Boston Area... Looks like the July 4th Independence Weekend is going to be a washout along the Rhode Island and Massachusetts coastline... Nasty! Oh well, it is good old fashioned New England Weather! LOL!

Today is: “Precision Day!” Why Not?
MY PERSONAL QUOTE:
"I tried to craft this quote with a keen eye for precision, but alas, the precision I seek is beyond my reach." Kerry F. Harkins - July 3, 2021

"Lucidity of speech is unquestionably one of the surest tests of mental precision...In my experience a confused talker is never a clear thinker." - David Lloyd George

"Most of the most important experiences that truly educate cannot be arranged ahead of time with any precision." - Harold Taylor

"Precision is, after all, not only a form of responsibility and a kind of pleasure, but an instrument of compassion. To be precise requires care, time, and attention to the person, place, or process being described." - Marilyn Chandler McEntyre

"I know this world is ruled by infinite intelligence. Everything that surrounds us- everything that exists - proves that there are infinite laws behind it. There can be no denying this fact. It is mathematical in its precision." - Thomas A. Edison

"There is no science in this world like physics. Nothing comes close to the precision with which physics enables you to understand the world around you. It's the laws of physics that allow us to say exactly what time the sun is going to rise. What time the eclipse is going to begin. What time the eclipse is going to end." - Neil deGrasse Tyson

And when it comes to leadership, we must remember that...

“Leaders at all levels must focus on each individual within their team with precision in order to inspire them, so those individuals know how vital they are to success of the mission and vision of the overall organization.” — COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs
