Good morning Burroughs Posse Leader!!! It is a very rainy day here in the greater Boston area and it is forecast to be this way through tomorrow... I sure hope the weather in Castle Rock is better than here my friend! Today I am remembering everyone Deployed in hopes that they will all come home once again...

Today is: “Middle Ground Day!” Why Not? Sometimes that middle ground gains you more than you might have otherwise realized... More to follow...

"In the minds of most men, the kingdom of opinion is divided into three territories,--the territory of yes, the territory of no, and a broad, unexplored middle ground of doubt." - James A. Garfield

"In the field of controversy I always pity the moderate party, who stand on the open middle ground exposed to the fire of both sides." - Edward Gibbon

"There is a fifth dimension, beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition." - Rod Serling

"We are cast as combatants in the war between truth and error. There is no middle ground. We must stand up for truth, even while we practice tolerance and respect for beliefs and ideas different from our own and for the people who hold them." - Dallin H. Oaks

"We either believe in the dignity of the individual, the rule of law, and the prohibition of cruel and unusual punishment, or we don't. There is no middle ground." - Leon Panetta

Let us never forget what this means to leaders...

“When it comes to leadership character and integrity there is no compromise or middle ground – you either have it or you don’t.” — COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs

Sgt (Join to see) - Thanks brother - it is beautiful and sunny here today my friend. Finally a day with no rain, so far, you never know when afternoon comes around....Have a great day....

“What is the middle ground when it comes to character and integrity? In my opinion there is no middle ground, you either fall on one side of the spectrum or other – just an opinion. There is no compromising your values and principles as a leader. When you do, you lose effectiveness and put your people at risk. Character and integrity are strong virtues, and some people take the middle ground when it comes to moral virtues instead of the extremes…that leads me to this quote…

‘Virtue lies in the middle ground.’ — Jose Rizal

May you decide what side the spectrum you fall in when it comes to character and integrity, so you don’t get stuck in the middle ground; may your mind, body, and soul be opened to grace, goodness, peace, forgiveness, and a continued bountiful life of purpose; and keep your family safe, secure, happy, and healthy.” — COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs

I expect your personal and professional integrity is impeccable and I hope our transparency of character does us justice and is worthy of emulation. No doubt your humility is genuine and you do not put on airs in social interactions since you have self-confidence and have no need or desire to demean others The LORD justified each of us who are HIS adopted sons and daughters at our salvation and cleanses us of all sin and defects. By HIS grace HE sees us as pure with impeccable character even while HE sanctifies our soul to perfectly reflect HIS image. I hope and pray that you and I have taken to heart the admonition of the LORD to confess our shortfalls and failures and ask the LORD to help us genuinely repent and when appropriate ask for forgiveness. Scripture reminds us ‘for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift,’ [Romans 3:23 ESV] and ‘if we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.' If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.’ [1 John 1:8-9 ESV] my brother-in-Christ Sgt (Join to see)

I pray for an increase of self-control, compassion and goodness for each of YOUR adopted sons and daughters who reads or hears this prayer LORD. I thank you for purifying our character through sanctification of the soul of each of us dear LORD. ‘For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love. For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they keep you from being ineffective or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. [2 Peter 1:5-8 ESV]
I pray for a secure night for each deployed service member, police and agents on duty, emergency room personnel, fire and rescue and EMT. I pray that none will die without the eternal security of personal relationship with you. Bless their family members with a secure and peaceful sleep and ability to rest in the comfort that YOU are their shield and buckler. ‘How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who publishes peace, who brings good news of happiness, who publishes salvation, who says to Zion, “Your God reigns.” The voice of your watchmen—they lift up their voice; together they sing for joy; [Isaiah 52:7-8a ESV
I pray for sufficient endurance and a strengthening of the character if each one of us who is going through harder times than we have previously experienced – including widows, widowers, divorces, and others whose hopes, dreams, and love has been upended. I pray that YOU enable us each to grieve to completion. I pray for an increase of the fruit patience, compassion, goodness and self-control for each of us. Help us to know who and what we should pray for dear LORD. ‘Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.’ [Romans 8:26-27 ESV]
I lift the Department of Veterans Affairs health system, the Military health system, TRICARE and the Indian Affairs health care systems to YOU LORD. Most of the medical staff members are no doubt doing their utmost to evaluate, treat, care for, operate on, assist in recovery, and protect from infection for the patients in their respective systems. I pray for great health for the medical staff personnel, and great care for the patients and outpatients including our friend SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL. I pray that YOU guide the mind and hands of each medical staff member who is evaluating and treating patients. LORD I pray for the disabled veterans who are waiting for care. I pray that YOU motivate intercessors to pray for each and good Samaritans to assist these veterans materially. ‘But a Samaritan, as he journeyed, came to where he was, and when he saw him, he had compassion. He went to him and bound up his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he set him on his own animal and brought him to an inn and took care of him. And the next day he took out two denarii and gave them to the innkeeper, saying, ‘Take care of him, and whatever more you spend, I will repay you when I come back.’ Luke 10:33-35 ESV]
I lift the homeless, those afflicted with mental illness and jury, outcasts, and those troubled this night to YOU dear LORD. YOU make it clear in YOUR Word that YOU treasure the poor who walk in their integrity, the needy who are needy based on greed of others, and each other downtrodden person. 'Open your mouth for the mute, for the rights of all who are destitute. Open your mouth, judge righteously, defend the rights of the poor and needy.' [Proverbs 31:8-9 ESV]
I pray that you and your family members sleep well Friday night and will awake refreshed and healthy on Saturday morning.
By the power and authority of the Name above all names, Jesus the Christ.

Good RED Friday Col Burroughs and Posse. Glad to see that my new profile picture has a red shirt; I think I will just keep this one.
Middle ground. Many people make light or fun of it, but sometimes it is the neutral meeting place. Right now we are a very divided nation; truthfully, I would like to see us find some middle ground, Interestingly enough many of the things I used to regard as "middle ground' have now been redesignated right or left and I don't think that's particularly helpful to anyone. In matters of life or death, there is no middle ground; the same for issues of faith but in so many other areas, extreme positions don't serve us well, imo.
