Good “R.E.D Friday!” Morning “Burroughs’ Posse,” and all great connections. Welcome to the end of another great week from the “Eagle’s Nest” in Costa Rica! — 27 August 2021!
**Day 6 Costa Rica – “Pura Vida” Yesterday was an awesome day for “Whale Watching” on the Pacific Ocean. We got to see a mother and baby whale for about 45 minutes. It was tough getting videos and pictures, but we did capture some. COVID-19 Testing all done and we’re good to head back to the Land of the Big PX once again. Great later afternoon lunch with one the local guests (a ‘White Face Monkey’ - Capuchin Monkey is the official name)! – Today we head back up the coast toward San Jose, Costa Rica and to our hotel, so we can get ready to fly out Saturday morning.**
Let’s “Remember Everyone Deployed” until they return home safely once again. Let’s say a prayer for the families and friends of the 12 Marines and Navy Medic who were killed yesterday!
We have (18) weeks and (127) days until 2022!

I pray that each adopted son and daughter who reads this prayer or listens to is adapting well as the Holy Spirit transforms our soul into the perfect reflection of the image of Christ for each of us. People tend to grow more reflective and compassionate or more bitter in response to changes thrust upon them. The HOLY Spirit uses challenges and testing to purify each of us from the dross of our sinful nature. Good morning Col Burroughs and posse. It seems as though you are all really enjoying this trip. I can't wait to hear the report of it all.
Whales are impressive, not just because of their size but also because they sing. It was a long time before we realized that. We still have not been successful in translating their songs but I suspect someday we might be if we manage to preserve the species. We have much to learn from other species about survival, caring, etc if we are willing to take the time. Each is special in its own way and an integral part of the web of life, just as we are.

I expect that you are proactive most of the time and that you adapt well to most fluid circumstances. I hope you are resilient and that you are able to perform well in most situations. No doubt those who rely on your leadership and advice, appreciate your ability to adapt while standing on your foundation of bedrock principles. I pray that you and I are becoming more compassionate and kinder in response to the involuntary changes we have been forced to adapt to in this COVID-risk era. 'Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. I pray that each adopted son and daughter who reads this prayer or listens to is adapting well as the Holy Spirit transforms our soul into the perfect reflection of the image of Christ for each of us. People tend to grow more reflective and compassionate or more bitter in response to changes thrust upon them. The HOLY Spirit uses challenges and testing to purify each of us from the dross of our sinful nature. 'But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself.' [Philippians 3:20-21 ESV]
I pray for sustaining hope for each of us – especially those grieving loss. YOU are working all to good for the body of Christ corporately and each of us individually in YOUR perfect timing in each generation until the end of this age. Give each of us eyes to see, ears to hear and a heart sensitive to the Holy Spirit dead LORD. ‘ESV 'And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.' [Romans 8:28-29 ESV]
I lift the service members and Afghanis being treated for wounds by the suicide murderers killed in Kabul on August 26, 2021 [USA time] to YOU, LORD. I pray that YOU guide the mind and hands of each medical professional treating, operating on, and sustaining through their recovery as well as counselors. I pray that YOU protect them from revenge by the terrorists. I lift their family members and friends to YOU and pray that YOU bless them with peace and joy. ‘Heal me, O LORD, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved, for you are my praise.' [Jeremiah 17:14 ESV]
I lift the trustworthy government, military, business, & industry leaders, administrators and managers whose foundation is on the rock of Christ to YOU dear LORD. I pray that YOU bless each one with sufficient knowledge, skill and wisdom to lead those who rely on them. I pray that YOU bless each with trustworthy people to work with them and in support of them. I pray that YOU motivate each one to use their time, talents and resources to bless as many as they should. ‘What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that? So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.’ [James 2:14-17 ESV]
I pray that you and I heed the admonition of the LORD about responsibilities associated with the Holy Spirit’s ministry.
