Happy Sunday right back at you, my friend and brother-in-Christ COL Mikel J. Burroughs.
I prefer seeing an actual refraction of light known as a rainbow. I am saddened when groups try to hijack things like rainbow for their own purposes.
Seeing a rainbow after a storm, certainly reminds me of the beauty that God enables us to see and reminds me that storms nourish the ground.
LORD, we need help to reflect on YOU instead of being distracted by worldly riches and fame.
God established the rainbow as a sign of a covenant with Noah and his sons, after the waters of the great flood retreated Genesis 9:17 “And God said to Noah, “This is the sign of the covenant which I have established between Me and all flesh that is on the earth.”
Genesis 9:8-17 NASB
“Then God spoke to Noah and to his sons with him, saying, “Now behold, I Myself do establish My covenant with you, and with your descendants after you; and with every living creature that is with you, the birds, the cattle, and every beast of the earth with you; of all that comes out of the ark, even every beast of the earth. “I establish My covenant with you; and all flesh shall never again be cut off by the water of the flood, neither shall there again be a flood to destroy the earth.” God said, “This is the sign of the covenant which I am making between Me and you and every living creature that is with you, for all successive generations; I set My bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a sign of a covenant between Me and the earth. “It shall come about, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow will be seen in the cloud, and I will remember My covenant, which is between Me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and never again shall the water become a flood to destroy all flesh. “When the bow is in the cloud, then I will look upon it, to remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is on the earth.” And God said to Noah, “This is the sign of the covenant which I have established between Me and all flesh that is on the earth.”
Heavenly Father, YOU established the rainbow as the sign of a covenant with human beings and each and every animal that there would never again be a universal flood. That is a sign of hope which far too few appreciate.
I pray that we who are YOURs by adoption appreciate YOU in good times and bad. Help us to be thankful to YOU and to those you have placed us in the midst of throughout the day. I pray that we each remember to treat others as would like to be treated in word and deed.

Good morning COL Mikel J. Burroughs and how appropriate. It is raining in Northern Virginia.
Sometimes life seems to be full of clouds and sadness. And then there is just that peek of sunshine and suddenly everything changes. The ray of sunshine from the cloudy sky or the rainbow after a good hard rain, tells us all that better things are to come. If you treat the storm as one containing a treasure, that will be easier to bear.
I look daily for the good in my situation. It makes me more empathetic to my clients who are suffering physical pain, makes me slow down and focus on what is around me, makes me appreciate the kindnesses of those who stop to offer me assistance. And I get to build both my physical and emotional strength for what may lie ahead. Would I have chosen this? Of course not, but since it is here, let me find the good in the situation.
What can you find in the situation or problem that is facing you? A creative solution? A new skill learned? Someone who stepped up to help? Find that nugget in the storm.
And if it isn't in yours... "Try to be the rainbow in someone's cloud" Maya Angelou Do it for someone else.
