Good Saturday morning, August 10th COL Mikel J. Burroughs!!! Gorgeous day here in the Greater Boston Area, my friend...feels like early fall! Love today's Topic - Influence Day!
and all your quotes are superb and spot on, my friend! But as I most always do, I will add a few that I have found & strike a chord with me:
1) “The true mark of a leader is the willingness to stick with a bold course of action — an unconventional business strategy, a unique product-development roadmap, a controversial marketing campaign — even as the rest of the world wonders why you’re not marching in step with the status quo. In other words, real leaders are happy to zig while others zag. They understand that in an era of hyper-competition and non-stop disruption, the only way to stand out from the crowd is to stand for something special.” - Bill Taylor
2) “If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader.” - John Quincy Adams
3) “A good objective of leadership is to help those who are doing poorly to do well and to help those who are doing well to do even better.” - Jim Rohn
4) “Leaders instill in their people a hope for success and a belief in themselves. Positive leaders empower people to accomplish their goals.” - Unknown
It is my belief that most of us work hard at our respective work in life, and most aspire to become a leader and that means that...
"Successful leadership includes positive influence, not just authority. It can be very powerful, yet very subtle when applied appropriately." — COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs

I pray that you and I are vigilant and mindful in aligning our actions and words, my friend and brother-in-Christ Sgt (Join to see).
I pray dear God that YOU guide the mind, hands, feet and body of each one of us to be positive influences for family members, friends, employees, subordinates and superiors and strangers. Help us to be quick to forgive and quick to confess when needed to.
I pray that more people in this nation will be discerning in what we watch and listen to. I pray for wisdom and tempered action to reduce tensions and lead people to focus on what we have in common.
I pray that families will be strengthened, spouses will demonstrate love for each other and that children will be raised in the love and admonition of the LORD. I pray for an umbrella of protection around families and that YOU refresh and renew their minds.
I pray for peace, restraint, love and forgiveness in families that have been embroiled in cycles of violence. Do what it takes dear God to restore love, trust, respect and honor and end the family violence.
By the power and authority of the Name above all names, Jesus the Christ.

My goal has always been to take care of it in this manner , the men , the mission
My firefighters know I’ll stop at nothing to make sure they are safe and informed and have the best chance at success . It has to be about the men , the brothers to your left and right , always . When they know this they will follow you anywhere because they know where they go you go . That was instilled in me in 3/75 Ranger Bn Aco and its never left me .
So although I don’t have a higher education I’ve learned priceless lessons from Master level leaders RLTW <3>
