What an interesting contradiction you make today. You begin with a countdown to the near year, then remind us to focus on today. Reminds me of one of my mother's favorite sayings: Never wish your life away (in response to her children's natural longing to be older, to get their driver's license, to grow up, etc) Ironically, she died at age 52 as if to accentuate her point...

Have a wonderful Friday, my friend and brother-in-Christ CPT Jack Durish.
Heavenly Father, YOU are the Master of time, circumstances and all of creation. YOU move heaven and earth in YOUR perfect timing to accomplish YOUR plans. YOUR plans are ultimately good.
From our perspective, daybreak can be hopeful, neutral or fearful depending on many factors. I pray that YOU will give those who are despondent HOPE, motivate those who are in neutral to do good, and that YOU will encourage and give courage to the fearful.
I pray for wisdom and diligence for each of YOUR adopted sons and daughters. Motivate us to respond to YOUR promptings as quickly as possible.
I pray that we each will be better listeners and that we will control our tongues. Help us dear God to be a blessing to family, friends, coworkers and everybody else we come into contact with.
I pray that we each remember that YOU loved us first. Help us to be initiators of agape love and give us grace and strength of character to love those you bring into our lives including and especially the unlovable.
By the power and authority of the Name above all names, Jesus the Christ.

The Moody Blues - Your Wildest Dreams
Best of The Moody Blues: https://goo.gl/zgH83h Subscribe here: https://goo.gl/v4Ygtk Music video by The Moody Blues performing Your Wildest Dreams. (C) 1986 ...
Good day to you, my friend COL Mikel J. Burroughs. I didn't get much sleep last night and the phone rang from the VAMC. I believe it is from neurology to schedule my NCV.
I noticed that Worth Remembering is the focus.
Each day begins with hopes and dreams. We go about our tasks purposely or haphazardly. The sunrise may be beautiful or shielded by clouds.
The LORD knows what our day will bring forth and we move through the day moment by moment.
Some days will yield memorable events and interactions.
I learned long ago to make notes on pictures I took because i did not trust my memory to remember the who, what, where and when in the future. Once I became a Christian by the grace of God, I began to journal sporadically which transformed into a daily process of writing about the day - first for myself to be able to see what I did as well as the where and when - including medicines I take. I also craft these journals for future generations to have a glimpse into what life was like.
My enlistment in the Army, graduation form West Point, my recognition that I needed salvation [after the Holy Spirit regenerated my heart], my marriage, birth of children, adoption of children, birthdays, anniversaries, dates of significant employment events [in my case - involuntary separation from Army and hire by LMI and termination form LMI] and full retirement are each worth remembering.
I hope all is well with you and the rest of our friends.
