Capt Sabrena Goldman, this is a great question.

I was on the cricket team in high school and I played club in Waikiki on weekends, while in service. It is a highly competitive Team sport and collectively, the Team contributions dictate whether the Team has legs to win the contest. The strategy of the Team to win the match lies in the hands of the Captain, his Vice and the Coach. The execution of plans lies with each team member and seniors support as advisory role models for fresh budding members, alike to a military unit, yet different.

Cricket has three major components: batting, fielding and bowling. When a Team executes plans in all three departments to perfection then, usually, that Team wins the match, series and even the World Cup. India reigns supreme in all three formats of the game: Test, ODI and T20 on the ICC charts.

I hope I have answered your question sufficiently.

Capt Sabrena Goldman; indeed, every Army should introduce such sports that instill both teamwork and camaraderie together, because apart from executing individual, and collective tasks on the field, in Cricket the friendships between team members are like brother and sister; a very tight knit bunch, like the SF and Delta.
