Pee-Wee Herman's Jewish Dad Volunteer to fight for this Israelis. He was an Jewish American fighter pilot with prior combat experience.

Israel got a few Czechoslovakian made fighters based off of the ME-109 with an engine from a HE-111.

These planes scared the Egyptian army from attacking Tel Aviv. This show of force saved Israel.
