It was interesting reading of the experience of Lt JG Edouard Izac, USN and the many attempted escapes and finally making it out from the POW camp. Thanks for the great posting.

Thanks! Tonight, I watched on Netflix Canada the Medal of Honor Netflix series.
This man won the DSC (Navy Cross equivalent) but not the MOH. He fought in China in 1932, Spain in 1938 and Promoted to SSG within a year of joining the Army before his March, 1945 Battle where he was wounded 5 times, killed many Germans, captured 2 soldiers and walked back wounded back to his Platoon.

President Clinton reviewed the file and approved it for Medal of Honor. Racism was a factor why African Americans did not qualify for the Medal of Honor.

I posted one of those Medal of Honor upgrades yesterday. It was most unfortunate that valor awards were subject to racial prejudice. LTC (Join to see)

SGT (Join to see) speaking to a Vietnam veteran yesterday, many special forces soldiers on the distinguished service cross because the regular army was complaining that too many Medal of Honor winners were going to Special Forces. When you have a squad of special forces hold back to Vietnamese divisions for a month, they deserve the Medal of Honor but it took over 40 years for this long to be fixed. I'm glad that many of them are getting the Medal of Honor better late than never.
