Vlad Putin is a solid leader who has very clear policy goals as he does his best to advance Russia internally an don the world stage. On the other hand Barack Obama is a waffling leader who has gained some backbone in 8 years but still does not have a coherent foreign policy SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL
Because our national leaders supported the Arab spring revolt which morphed into Arab Winter and the birth and rapid rise of ISIS while POTUS Obama was focused on toppling Bashar Assad as the leader of Syria and Beni Netanyahu as the leader of Israel for that matter. Thankfully POTUS Obama did not try to engage Israel the way he has tried to undermine Assad.
Russia is the biggest nation in the world stretching from the Baltic Sea to the Pacific Ocean.
We could benefit from Russia's assistance and cooperation in the war against ISIS as well as helping to tamper what is happening in Turkey.
We still need wisdom in confronting Russia in the Black Sea republic of Ukraine as well as in the eastern Baltic nations of Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia and Poland.

LTC Stephen F. Well stated. There is a time and pace for Russia. That is not a country we will ever want to go WAR against. With it's vast lands and populations that would be a bridge too far just the US in my opinion, but at the same time with the right POTUS at the wheel Russia wouldn't be so brazin right now in my opinion, once again! Let's put the coalition together today to exterminate these radicals once and for all - that we shoul dbe able to agree with Russia on. If they want to take the lead, let them! How is our Operational Security going to be affected. We tell the World what we are going to do everytime we do it! What OPSEC?

POTUS & Kerry require the DOD support and input, 'cause those 2 don't know what the hell to do! Diplomacy and red lines don't work!

That is a very reasonable and realistic requirement on his part and of the US. The Ruskies are out for #1 and will do or say anything to their ends. While there appeared to be some coordination of air attacks in Syria, there were many reports that the Ruskies were bombing Daesh and the anti-Syrian forces at the same time.
