It is extremely rare to die alone in the aviation community, no matter the conflict. What a loss. Vietnam veteran respect!

SP5 Mark Kuzinski Very tragic...
In early 1972, while I was enroute to my first assignment (C Company, 2nd Bn, 4th Inf in Germany), after graduating from Infantry Officer basic, Airborne and Ranger schools, a Chinook helicopter carrying the Mortar Platoon from our battalion while enroute to Grafenwohr for training, killing all on board... about 40 soldiers (including the crew). Within a few days of arrival, this brand new 2LT was assigned as a Survivor Assistance Officer for four or five of the dead soldiers. Very, very sad time and not a good way to go into your first unit/duty assignment.
