As we remember those who lost their lives while serving, lets not forget the US Contractors, most of whom were Veterans of the various branches. Though it is hard to find exact numbers of those who died while supporting our overseas missions, it is estimated at almost 7,000 have made the ultimate sacrifice since the operations in Iraq and Afghanistan began.
Though as contractors they were no longer classified as soldiers, marines, airmen, sailor or the like. They too served in all the same hotpots and fell while defending our Nation's interest as well. Only they get no fanfare, no parades, or medals. They are the forgotten casualties, as they are considered civilians and the DOD doesn't include their numbers in the official casualty reports. .

You are right, let us not forget the contractors. The men who fought at Benghazi who lost their careers defending the safe house because it is obeyed the orders of the station Chief or contractors that were former Army Rangers Navy Seals other special ops. Let us not forget them those truck drivers dishwashers laundry people gym towel employees maintenance workers and anyone else not mentioned who have helped and in many cases got killed.
