Are there any members in the Los Angeles area here on Rally Point? if so, do you have any contacts in the LAPD? Because the fact that the LAPD is "Not actively investigating" this really ticks me off, and I'd like to see someone in the local area light a fire under them over this.
And once the morons who did this are caught, make 'em clean it up, put them on the next C-17 heading to Afghanistan, and give them the experience that will allow them to know why people are so pissed off over this....

Until I had addictions in my family, I would have been so mad as hell at the defacing of the Vet Memorial.
I am to a point and Venice, California is a freakshow location and a haven for druggies too.
We have to remember that gang members and 'taggers' are actually druggies and they will do things like this while they are 'high'. To be anti-gang is also pro-sobriety and pro-rehab. You can put them on a C-17 and ship them to a war zone but they will be too addicted to cigs, meth, pot or booze to care. Stay sober, don't drink, smoke or use drugs. For us to stop the drug cartels cold, we need to stop the demand from junkies in Canada and the USA.

All due respect Major, I don't want them sent to a war zone to scare them, arm their sorry asses up, send them out, and let nature take it's course. If you deface something like this, I could care less if you are addicted to something or not, those men on that memorial paid the ultimate price for this country, and these pieces of crap disrespected the hell out of them, It's time they were shown that there is a price for your actions, whether you were high or not.
I was married to an alcoholic, I know all about AA, and NA, and I respect what they do, but this action goes way beyond anything AA can help, these scum really don't care about anything if they're willing to stoop this low, and blaming it on an addiction just doesn't cut it with me.

I understand. Ok, lock them up. Make them pay and help them clean it up but the ACLU will back them up saying its a freedom of speech issue and it will be pleabargained to a misdemeanor and you will see them picking up trash alongside the freeways. Its idiots like Chaka I recall defaced the stainless steel elevator doors of the LA court house while awaiting trial for his vandalism. They are idiots who probably sniffed glue and did not know their own names anymore. Not saying they did but when my Dad was a Sheriff Bailiff in the Norwalk Superior Court he remembers a certain teen or young adult come in time after time in trouble for sniffing glue and after a while he was so brain dead after his brain was gone he hardly could speak. Those could be the types of people who are vandalizing the Veterans Memorial. Too bad it was not done on Federal Property! Then the vandals would not stand a chance and they would serve time and they would be someone's beyatch in a prison and get AIDS.

Sgt Mike Sarris - I have lost my 1SG from Whittier, California in OIF and I have gone to a few Ramp Ceremonies while in OIF. Most were IDARNG in Iraq and 1SG was in the USAR. I do empathize. I hate gangs. Broken homes caused by drugs and addicitons flames the gang problem. LAPD, for whatever reason, does not follow up yet they know who writes those stuipd infamous monikers. I hope some retired or some ARNG/USAR based LAPD officers(I bet there are at least 100 Guard or USAR on the LAPD force) work on it during their off time and find these idiots.

My friend in Hawaii says they damaged a Police and Veterans Memorial and many others are damaged for this weekend. 1% of the populace serves and it seems elements of the 99% vandalize it!
I think druggies and mental cases are involved. Maybe we need to have volunteers guard these locations since the Police can't be there 24/7. It looks like it is done on purpose to coincide with our Memorial Day Holiday.
