Yes LTG Darryl A. Williams class of 1983 has been selected as the next Superintendent of USMA, West Point - my Alma Mater PO1 Tony Holland BTW LTG Darryl K. Williams who commands DLA is also black.
MY USMA class of 1980 had two distinctions; 1st was the first class with women cadets and the second was first class with a black First Captain - my friend Vince Brooks who is currently General Vince Brooks commander of USFK.
Darryl A Williams was a Plebe when I was a Firstie. As far as I know I had no contact with him at West point. Everything I have heard about him is good.

Long overdue; many African-American candidates have graduated from the USMA at West Point, but none of them were selected for the coveted post. This is a positive change in the Army, perhaps. Let's wait and watch.
