Personality conflicts, while overblown at times, led to all sorts of questionable operational and strategic decisions. Goering at Dunkirk. Kesselring at Bizierte. Mac Arthur in the Phippines. Raeder vs Donitz. Patton and Bradley. Montgomery at Market Garden.
Happened over and over again. But these were type A cats used to being in charge and getting their way.
