The Immigration Reform Act of 1986 was supposed to allow a means for Illegals inside the USA a means of citizenship. Jimmy Carter and Iran Hostage crisis. 80s still fearful of the Soviet Union and Warsaw Pact. Nuclear War likely. New Wave, recession and recovery with Ronald Reagan. Purple Rain, 1987 stock Market Crash. 1980-1987 Iran-Iraq war. Bush as President. USSR and Warsaw pact disintegration with fall of Berlin Wall. Hip-Hop and Punk Rock.
MTV was actually playing music videos not 3 gays and a female. Dumb Reality shows replaced music so art gave in to arbitron ratings for people who buy tabloids.
Desert Shield, Desert Storm. Short Term victory. Saddam in place. Metallica. OPP Naughty by Nature, 90s recession, President Clinton, balanced budget, Blackhawk Down. Nirvana. Crack Cocaine, New Jack City. Timothy McVeigh and Oklahoma City, World Trade Center basement bombing. USS COLE.
Bosnia-Herzegovina. AOL and internet explosion. false alarm about Y2K. 9/11 , OIF/OEF. Recession in 2001. Iraq War 2003-2011. Bad peace. Al Quaida morphs into ISIL. Bin laden doubletapped. Afghanistan 2001 to present. Arab Spring and USA military downsizing in the face of N. Korean, Russian and Iran Nuke theats and global warming now most important issue per the POTUS. Oil price drop and enemies rewarded. Kardashian shows about how not to be like them. It is as dangerous now as I was born in October 1962 during the peak of the Cuban Missle Crisis.
