When I was in high school, I used to stress out over grades. Eventually I figured out I needed to define myself to live a better life. I saw Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn in the loft of a church watching their funerals and got the idea to write eulogies of myself from the perspective of a family member, a friend and my Pastor that I would want said about me. I wrote all three. After writing I noticed commonalities between the 3 and condensed it to one. Eventually I keyed in on individual words that I thought were significant. As time passed I finally decided on just 6 words to define me. The goal was then to live my life consistent with those words (goals) and force those words to be said about me at my funeral by those who would discuss who I was. If I have stayed true to my values those words will be said. I have never shared those worlds with anyone as that would defeat the purpose. Regardless, it has provided guidance to me for how to conduct myself and has served me well.

PO3 Phyllis Maynard - I have sort of done the same and I keep it personal and I do my best to lead my elder years in the way I evaluated myself.
