Good morning, Rallypoint, and welcome to the September 5th Labor Day edition of Astronomy Picture of the Day (APOD): "Carina Cliffs from the Webb Space Telescope." The clarity of images coming back from the Webb Space Telescope (WST) continues to amaze and delight. This view of the Carina Nebula is no exception (I'll post a pre-Webb APOD of the Carina Nebula in a separate comment). G.K. Chesterton wrote in 1909: "The world will never starve for want of wonders, but only for want of wonder." I think the WST will keep us well fed for a number of years.

“Stars created these cliffs. Specifically, the destructive winds and energetic light from the stars in the open cluster NGC 3324 eroded away part of a mountain of dark interstellar dust in the northern part of the Carina Nebula.”
Thank you for another beautiful look at the alternate world of Space Maj William W. 'Bill' Price . I added this photo to my gallery in my IPhone. Will use as Wallpaper.
