RP Members and Connections Memorial Day is here. Please share your memories with us in a picture of those we honor and remember on this Memorial Day and those to come. This will be one of those questions that just keep giving us great memeories of those we've lost who served this great nation.
Here are pictures of my Father Donald Burroughs (Army Korean War Veteran) who passed on October 7, 2016, and my Father-in-Law Loren Leon Hazeldahl (Marine Vietnam Veteran) who died from suicide on December 8, 2015.
I have many more that I could add to this post and I will remember them in silence.
Please coninue to share your pictures and memories with the RP Nation for this Memorial Day and those to come.

I have lost a lot of patients who were veterans... Too many to count and pictures were not allowed due to privacy laws. May the rest in paradise.

SGT Rixe, while you do not have their pictures you have something more important.
The memories of those veterans which you carry with you for the rest of your days.
All of us need to be remembered by someone. Thank you for your service.

Thank you SPC Woody Bullard I will carry their memory with me for the remainder of my days. I have had the privilege of taking care of veterans from our greatest generation and was the only person that they shared their stories with. Families of the departed were thankful that I was a veteran so that their loved one could rest easy not taking some of the things that they held inside for generations, to the grave. I love my job and am grateful every time I encounter a veteran who entrusts me with their secrets, with their nightmares, and with this sorrow. No one should ever have to take that to the grave with them......no one. I have chosen a few year ago, for veterans, I never say rest in peace.... it will always be rest in paradise because dang it, they deserve the best! Peace comes with being in paradise!

Memorial Day can be a bad day for me if I let the demons out of their cage. So I do things to remind myself that those I lost would be real pissed if I spiral down. So I always remember Ralph, who after I lost him, has spent my lifetime kicking my ass to do the right thing. I wouldn't be honoring him if I didn't. So Ralph, here's to you and the countless others.

The was my Dad. A WWII Navy Veteran who went on to be the father of 14 children of which I'm the youngest. I can't begin to express what an amazing man he was. I miss him more than anything.

On Memorial Day, we remember the fallen in our country's service. My uncle, Daniel Villaneva Hermosillo, died when the USS Bache (DD-470) was hit in the last Kamikaze attack on a US Ship in WWII. His mother, my grandmother, was so distraught that she did not allow my mother to ever mention his name. I did not find out about him until after my mother's passing a few years ago. Like so many lost in WWII, his heroic sacrifice is what we remember on Memorial Day.
